Mission

Welcome to Well-being Psychotherapy.  Alba aims to facilitate and support the mental health of children, adolescents, adults, parents, and the community.  She embraces a holistic, integrative approach within the individual and their surroundings.

Alba’s mission is to foster a supportive and nurturing environment where clients can explore their difficulties, gain insight, and find empowerment.  She provides a calm and containing space to express yourself, either verbally, through art, or by being aware of your body. Whether you’re navigating personal challenges, family dynamics, life transitions, or health crises, She will support you.

Additionally, Alba offers therapy sessions in both Spanish and English.

Meet the Founder and Psychotherapist

Since 2014, Alba Piedra has been dedicated to making a profound impact in the lives of children, adolescents, and adults from a wide range of backgrounds. Her extensive experience encompasses vital roles in educational institutions, private and public sectors, charitable organisations, and governmental bodies. Having personally journeyed through therapy, she possesses a unique empathy and understanding of the courage required to seek help.
 
Alba’s professional accomplishments include providing therapeutic support at renowned institutions such as MIND, The Aubys Centre NHS, and Teléfono de la Esperanza (UK). Additionally, she has played a significant role in transformative initiatives like the Family Emotional Well-Being Project C.I.C. and “The Space.”
 
Academically, Alba earned her BSc in Psychology from City University and an MA in Integrative Child and Adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University. Moreover, Alba has extensive experience working with parents, adolescents, and children across primary and secondary school settings, as well as in private practice. She has effectively supported students at Kids Company and the Ealing Schools Counselling Partnership Ltd., and has served as a Psychotherapist for the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Alba ensures that her practice meets the highest standards of therapeutic care. Her groundbreaking research on domestic violence in adults and its consequences for children reflects her commitment to addressing critical social issues. In 2016, she was honoured with an award from the Ecuadorian embassy in London, recognizing her as a pioneer in this essential field. Currently, she is in the process of publishing her MA dissertation and survey, contributing further to the body of knowledge. For references to these studies, please see the resources page.
 
Currently, Alba serves as a MATT clinician at Capstone Foster Care Agency, while also thriving in her private practice, dedicated to fostering healing and growth in those she helps.

My practice emphasises confidentiality, nonjudgment, and flexibility for both short-term and long-term therapy, either in person at our therapy office or online via Zoom or Teams.
